Ohio Supreme Court Technology Grants 2025

Ohio Supreme Court Technology Grants 2025

The Supreme Court of Ohio has announced that applications are open for its 2025 Technology Grant awards. This grant opportunity supports local Ohio courts (Mayor’s courts are not eligible) by providing financial resources to aid in the implementation of technology-based projects. Applications are due February 28, 2025 by 5pm.

Applicant Priority considerations:

• Applicant court is located within an area deemed to be high need due to poverty level, fiscal emergency, or economic distress.

• Applicant court has not previously been awarded grant funding during the 2020–2024 grant cycles, excluding the 2020 Remote Technology Grant. The amount of a previous award may be a factor considered dependent upon available funding and applications received.

Project Type Priority considerations:

• Projects that utilize technology to modernize operations and increase efficiency and responsiveness to the public.

• Projects that support the judicial system with enabling technology infrastructure for essential services for the administration of justice.

While the Supreme Court’s website specifically states the grant priorities are e-filing and CMS upgrades, there is certainly an argument to make that digitizing a court’s backlog of paper files falls within these priorities.
