ScanWorks to Assist Ohio Recorders with SB 94 Compliance

Governor Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 94 on July 24, 2024. This law, effective October 24, 2024, mandates all county recorders to offer electronic recording options and to make their indexes and images available online for documents dating back to 1980. The bill creates the County Recorder Electronic Record Modernization Program which is administered by the Office of the Treasurer and appropriates $6 million to fund the program and help assist counties satisfy the requirements of this bill. 

ScanWorks is here to assist County Recorders in Ohio achieve compliance with this bill. We have the hardware, software, experience, and expertise to digitize land records of any size and in any condition. We most recently digitized land and property records for the Pauling County Recorder.

Our process involves retrieving the records to be scanned from our customer and safely transporting them to our office. We carefully inventory the records. We then begin the process of preparing them to be scanned, we use one of our specialty scanners to capture each image perfectly each time, label the images, and then conduct a final quality control step on the entire project. It is always a satisfying day to turn over a completed hard drive to a County Recorder. We then destroy the original records or return them to the customer, whichever the customer elects.
