Meaningful Use – Stage 2

If your medical practice is in the process of implementing an EHR / EMR, you are surely doing your best to keep abreast of the Meaningful Use rules coming out of the federal government.  The Stage 2 rule was recently released.  It describes the requirements and criteria that eligible providers and hospitals must meet if they want to participate in the incentive program and receive payments for the use of EHR systems.  The final version of the rule indicates a sharper focus on patient engagement and promote information exchange among patients and providers, as well as physicians and hospitals.
