At ScanWorks, we are often asked how it is that we can scan a high volume of records at such an affordable rate.  The answer lies in barcoding.  We index the data the customer wants captured (such as the name of their customers, addresses, dates of birth or dates of service, client code, etc) in the form of a barcode.  We can then feed documents continuously into our high-speed scanners.  Every time the software reads one of our barcodes, it establishes a new record and labels it with the data contained in the barcode.  For most customers, this means that their records are sorted into individually searchable PDF files.
